Digestion is very important in all living things, if we think about ourselves, when our stomachs are upset we feel pretty bad all over; it is exactly the same with the horse. In an ideal environment the horse is a "trickle feeder" - it grazes all day taking in small regular amounts of feed that it is able to digest easily, never overloading its digestive system. In the stable, the horse receives two substantial feeds each day, that are eaten relatively quickly, leading to bad digestion and digestive upsets. Equi-Gex by its very structure slows down the passage of food and promotes an active gut flora to keep the digestive tract on a more even keel.
The herb pack is specially selected to enhance the marine and plant extracts used in Equi-Gex, to improve the horse's quality of life - less stress, better body organ action, better fertility, better respiration, etc.
The herbs added are as follows: usnea SPP, medicago sativia, echinacea purea, viola tricolor, urtica dioica, apium-gran, salvia officinalis, echinacea ang, verbena officinalis, valerian officinalis, lysimachia vulgaris, silicea purificata and terixio officinalis.
Equi-Gex can be added to pellet feeds by the compounder to create a better quality feed. It is recommended to add 2 to 4 kg per 1000 kg of finished feed, depending on what type of horse or pony the feed is for. A full analysis is available to aid the nutritionist to formulate correctly, but mostly Equi-Gex is used as an extra to ensure optimum coverage.
